As a late birthday gift, my friend Euan got me a Cameo. He had one of the hosts of my favorite podcast The Lapsed Fan Wrestling Podcast record this for me. TLF has been my favorite podcast for some time and is the only one that I currently support on Patreon. Although there are a few others that I have supported in the past and hope to again in the future. Actually, some of the ideas I have for future posts on this blog come from things that have been discussed on TLF.
On the surface this might seem like a strange cameo to give me given that it has nothing to do with me or the fact that it was my birthday or even that Euan was late with a birthday gift. But it actually does make sense as we had a discussion about possible Cameo ideas a little while back and I tossed out the idea of someone giving Fritz Von Erich a father of the year award but since all of his kids (except one) were dead that it would have to be presented by Lapsed Vince who is obviously the Lapsed Fan podcasts take on Vince McMahon.
I really like the concept behind Cameo and there are several possibilites for gifts I may give in the future. I’m sure I can think of one or two people who might like a Cameo from Ric Flair, Mick Foley, Bret Hart or others. No if you’ll excuse me, I have to go back to thinking up possible Cameo ideas for The Lapsed Fan.
In closely related news, I also need to add some The Lapsed Fan T-shirts to my wardrobe. I wear a 2XL if anyone who likes buying gifts for me is reading.
