Farooq and Bradshaw Wrestling Figures Still in Box

Welcome to FigureMania I

My friend Art Shimko and I have this obsession with WWE Wrestling Figures. Art started collecting them a couple of months ago and I started back in September of last year. If you don’t follow both of us on Twitter, then trust me when I say we speak about this subject quite often.

Reflections on Recommendations and Interests

Last weekend, I received a book recommendation for ‘Lone Wolf’ by Jodi Picoult. As the plot was explained to me, it sounded intriguing and since I’ve been on a bad reading slump this month (I have yet to read a single book from start to finish after reading 17 in February), I decided that it would be a good time to give this one a shot. I’m probably about 60% of the way through the book and am glad I decided to listen to it.
I will have a lot to say about ‘Lone Wolf’ after I have finished reading it. I will say that it is highly likely that I will write a review of the book. But what I will say now is that for better or worse the book has definitely got me thinking.

A Tree in every bottle

Drinking a Tree

Today, a friend and I made the 45 minute trip to Mitchell and back. We went down because their local K-Mart is closing soon and I thought it would be a good idea to go down and get some discounts.
The last time I was there, in December, I found a WWE Elite Dallas Page action figure and elected not to buy it that day. After talking to my friend Art about action figures the other day I got the bug to buy some more. So I went down and sure enough, DDP was still waiting and now he was 40% off so I got him for around $14. I probably could have bought a couple of other ones but there’s got to be a limit to how I spend my money this month.

Voice Post: WWE ‘Royal Rumble 2016’ Reaction

This is the first of two voice posts I will be putting up today. This one deals entirely with the 2016 ‘Royal Rumble’ which I watched last night.

I haven’t looked online to see how other people are reacting to the show and so I don’t know if my scenario is being posed by anyone else but this is how I would have done things.

The other voice post that I will put up later is a companion to my previous post.

Voice Post: Royal Rumble, Chili, Heightened Senses and Blindness Frustrations

This audio post is longer than yesterday’s. I covered several topics, I talked briefly about the Royal Rumble and why I’m not going to be eating chili tonight. Then I answered a couple of questions about being blind. One on whether or not I have heightened senses and the other on the most frustrating aspect.

I hope that if you listen you find it interesting. If you need a nap after you’re done, I understand.

I also hope you check out my previous written post about dreams.

Trying a voice post

In my post from the other day, I mentioned hating my voice. Consider this post as a way for you all to decide if my not liking my voice is merited or not. My high school drama teacher said I had a beautiful voice but I’m pretty sure she was hard of hearing.

After I recorded this, I realized that this could be a way to add more content. I might put up a lengthy post each day about whatever is on my mind and follow it later with an audio post of just random things. It would be good practice for doing longer podcasts again down the road.

The only issue is that I have to edit the title and add any text I might want after the post has been published.

The 2016 Royal Rumble Game

We’re just a couple of days away from my favorite WWE show of the year, the Royal Rumble. Every year, I put together a Royal Rumble game among friends. It is just for fun, you get nothing for winning, it costs nothing to play but it can make the match more fun to watch. I even have a couple friends who don’t watch wrestling or know much about it but play anyway, mostly because I twist their arm.

So Much for Writing Daily

When I started this website I did so with the idea that I would write daily. I established that as the goal because I figured it would help to make me a better writer. How could I not improve when I was forced to write even when there was no obvious topic on which I felt I should write?

Action Go Figure

Today, I want to write about wrestling action figures. I can’t really explain my desire to write about wrestling figures but it works out because I can’t think of what I would write about otherwise.

I had a lot of toys when I was a kid. I had Ghostbusters toys (I loved the Ecto-one so much) and Ninja Turtles but the ones I had the most of were wrestling figures.

WCW Monday Nitro

WCW Monday Nitrocap #3: September 18, 1995

Welcome to WCW Nitrocap #3. Last week, Hulk Hogan defended the world title against Lex Luger and the main event for Fall Brawl was finalized. Also, a bunch of wrestler’s made their WCW debuts and got beat. Oh, and Eric Bischoff gave away the result of a match on Raw for the first time. What will happen this week? Read the Nitrocap to find out!

If you’re new to the Nitrocap, it is not play-by-play. It is basically a chance for me to mock the announcers tell some stories and share youtube videos.
