Today is the day that I officially said my goodbye as a fan of the NFL and the Oakland Raiders. This has actually been something that has slowly been happening over the past few years but today was the absolute final straw.
The Talking Audiobooks podcast is teaming up with the folks over at Novel Audio to give away 10 copies of the Audiobook version of ‘Slobberknocker: My Life in Wrestling’ by Jim Ross and Paul O’Brien. This audiobook is narrated by Jim Ross with R. C. Bray.

The drawing for the 2017 Royal Rumble game has taken place. No late entries were recorded so we had 26 participants.
In a few short hours, I will be generating the number assignments for this year’s version of the Royal Rumble game.
I know I already wrote something today but I could not let this day pass without talking about a subject near and dear to my heart. It was fifteen years ago this very evening that my life changed forever. It was fifteen years ago tonight that the final episode of WCW Monday Nitro aired on TNT.
Last weekend, I received a book recommendation for ‘Lone Wolf’ by Jodi Picoult. As the plot was explained to me, it sounded intriguing and since I’ve been on a bad reading slump this month (I have yet to read a single book from start to finish after reading 17 in February), I decided that it would be a good time to give this one a shot. I’m probably about 60% of the way through the book and am glad I decided to listen to it.
I will have a lot to say about ‘Lone Wolf’ after I have finished reading it. I will say that it is highly likely that I will write a review of the book. But what I will say now is that for better or worse the book has definitely got me thinking.
Today, a friend and I made the 45 minute trip to Mitchell and back. We went down because their local K-Mart is closing soon and I thought it would be a good idea to go down and get some discounts.
The last time I was there, in December, I found a WWE Elite Dallas Page action figure and elected not to buy it that day. After talking to my friend Art about action figures the other day I got the bug to buy some more. So I went down and sure enough, DDP was still waiting and now he was 40% off so I got him for around $14. I probably could have bought a couple of other ones but there’s got to be a limit to how I spend my money this month.
This post contains two discussions. A brief discussion of my plans to watch Ring of Honor tomorrow night leads it off.
This is the first of two voice posts I will be putting up today. This one deals entirely with the 2016 ‘Royal Rumble’ which I watched last night.
I haven’t looked online to see how other people are reacting to the show and so I don’t know if my scenario is being posed by anyone else but this is how I would have done things.
The other voice post that I will put up later is a companion to my previous post.
This audio post is longer than yesterday’s. I covered several topics, I talked briefly about the Royal Rumble and why I’m not going to be eating chili tonight. Then I answered a couple of questions about being blind. One on whether or not I have heightened senses and the other on the most frustrating aspect.
I hope that if you listen you find it interesting. If you need a nap after you’re done, I understand.
I also hope you check out my previous written post about dreams.
I have generated the list for the 2016 Royal Rumble game which can be found below.
In my post from the other day, I mentioned hating my voice. Consider this post as a way for you all to decide if my not liking my voice is merited or not. My high school drama teacher said I had a beautiful voice but I’m pretty sure she was hard of hearing.
After I recorded this, I realized that this could be a way to add more content. I might put up a lengthy post each day about whatever is on my mind and follow it later with an audio post of just random things. It would be good practice for doing longer podcasts again down the road.
The only issue is that I have to edit the title and add any text I might want after the post has been published.
We’re just a couple of days away from my favorite WWE show of the year, the Royal Rumble. Every year, I put together a Royal Rumble game among friends. It is just for fun, you get nothing for winning, it costs nothing to play but it can make the match more fun to watch. I even have a couple friends who don’t watch wrestling or know much about it but play anyway, mostly because I twist their arm.
When I started this website I did so with the idea that I would write daily. I established that as the goal because I figured it would help to make me a better writer. How could I not improve when I was forced to write even when there was no obvious topic on which I felt I should write?
