Hello everyone. I’m taking a bracket break to update my blog for the first time in way too long. My reasons for not having written sooner are many but can best be summed up as laziness. At least I’m honest, right?
Let us see if I can’t catch you all up on the “happenings” in my life. This shouldn’t take too long but probably will take longer than it should.
I don’t typically use Vudu to purchase or rent movies or TV shows. I’m more of an Amazon or especially iTunes kind of guy mostly for convenience purposes. However, 20% off your next purchase or rental is too good for even me to pass up.
How exactly does one get 20% off their next purchase or rental at Vudu? It is very easy, simply click here and enter the promo code WWEUNIVERSE.
If you are off of work today and or stuck inside because of the weather there are a lot of things you could do. You could reduce your Netflix cue a bit or you could listen to an audiobook. You could do less fun things like household chors but I’m not about to write a blog post on why you should do chors. Even if I did spend part of Christmas doing my dishes. Anyway, I have another suggestion if you’re actually bored enough to listen to me talk. You can listen to my interview on the Talking Audiobooks podcast.
One of the things I talked about in my interview on the Talking Audiobooks Podcast is how to get a lot of audiobooks for very little money and that included being on the lookout for free books. As usual, I try to let readers of my blog know when a book is available for free and leave it up to you to decide if it is something you are interested in. To me, the most important thing is making sure the information is available.
On Friday afternoon, I recorded my interview for the Talking Audiobooks podcast. I was a bit apprehensive at first because I wasn’t really sure that I would have a lot to offer by way of conversation. I tend to feel that way about a lot of things, isn’t there someone who you could get that would be better than me?
But as the interview drew closer over the past few days I got more excited and felt more energized. I came up with some points that I thought were valid and I was able to work them in as the interview progressed.
Hello, all. I hope this post finds you all doing well. Obviously, it has been awhile since I have written anything and probably longer since I wrote anything worth reading. I hope to start reversing that trend soon but make no guarantees. I did think it would be a good time to catch everyone up on what has been happening or what will be happening in my life.
While I haven’t written any audiobook reviews since May and have written so few this year, I intend to change that very soon. In preparation for writing more reviews, I have made a change to how I review books.
I love Star Wars and I love reading. I’ve even reviewed a Star Wars audiobook or two…or five…or ten…or more.
Today, the folks at StarWars.com have announced details of the fifth annual event which will take place the entire month of October. Check the link for details on all sorts of events and participants around the world.
As someone who periodically writes audiobook reviews, I often have to consider the question:
What makes for a good audiobook?
It is a question that is more complicated than it might sound. The audiobook comes in many different forms. Some are read by a single narrator and some are read by more than one or a full cast. Some feature a lot of acting on the part of the narrator and some are quite dry. Some contain music and background sound effects and some feature no background noise whatsoever. Individual preference is a huge factor in how a person goes about picking their next listen.
I’ve been quiet again. I haven’t had much of anything to say and I don’t know if that has really changed all that much. But I decided I would write something anyway because it just feels like a good idea. There won’t be a theme but more a collection of random notes and thoughts.
I haven’t really written much as of late. Yes, I have put up some posts related to Audiobook news but I don’t really count that as writing. I don’t count that because those posts are easy and don’t require much in the way of creativity. They are based on facts, what is on sale, when is it on sale, how long is it on sale, where is it on sale and so on. I can hammer out posts like those without much effort or enthusiasm. I don’t mean that to sound like I don’t want to write those posts only to say it doesn’t take a lot of motivation to get me to write one of those posts.
The last post I wrote that I put a lot of thought into and revealed something about myself was back on May the third. That’s a far cry from my stated goal from earlier this year to write something on this blog every day.
