It will not surprise readers of mine to learn that I took advantage of this sale to the tune of 8 books. I picked up a couple James Patterson books, a couple from Neil Gaiman and a few others. Most of them were already on my audible wishlist. I love that when a book in your wishlist is on sale, the site points it out to you in an email. Not everyone does that with wishlisted items.
It is entirely possible I could get a couple more titles but it isn’t likely. Of course, Audible does tend to add titles to the sale as it gets closer to the end so you never know.
It has been a busy few days for me and Audible. The website also had a deal the other day, 2 books for 1 credit. So essentially it was a buy 1 get 1 free type of deal. In that event I got 6 books for 3 credits. Three of the books I got in that sale were second books in a series that I had collected during the first in a series sale last month.
It is funny because I should probably read the first book before desiding to commit to continuing with any given series. However, I don’t like to read a first book in a series unless I know I can keep going if I really want to do so. Besides, if I don’t end up liking the series, I can return the books I bought and get my money back thanks to the great listener guarantee Audible has so I’m not really concerned.
I should probably stop here before this looks too much like a paid advertisement for Audible, especially since…it isn’t. I do actually buy audiobooks from other places including Downpour.com and tantor.com. I had a membership at Audiobooks.com but it wasn’t quite worth it for me personally.
If you want to know how bad things are for me in the wishlist department, currently my audible wishlist has 378 titles on it. Many are continuations of series that I have enjoyed. And if you are curious, I can tell you that of the 768 books or so in my library, I have actually read about 42% of them so far but that number is growing steadily.
