The calendar has officially flipped to February. As I said in yesterday’s voice post I always like when a new month begins because it feels like a fresh start or a new beginning. As I was still grieving over Ginny when the calendar flipped to January and to 2016, I feel like I missed out last month. But February is a chance to start fresh with a positive outlook and hope for a good month. Even though there’s a certain holiday coming up this month almost certainly to guarantee I end up in a bad mood. But we’ll deal with that when we get to it.
I have a couple of things I want to do this month. The biggest thing I’ve set as a February goal is to read a book series. It might be ‘The Lord of the Rings’, or ‘Left Behind’, or the new series I got last week, ‘John Wells’ by Alex Berenson. Whatever I pick I just want to get something read in the way of a series.
I also want to watch at least 5 movies this month that I haven’t seen yet. One of my goals for this year was to decrease the number of movies in my collection that I haven’t watched yet. In January I only decreased that number by one film and that’s bad since I added more than one movie to the collection.
These two goals might not seem very difficult to anyone reading this. That is exactly why I picked them as goals. I’m still trying to rebuild my self-confidence which has really taken a pounding over the last couple of years. Setting small goals and achieving them will help me build up momentum to set bigger and more loftier goals. Life is a marathon, not a sprint.
I don’t really have anything else profound to say and as a result I will make this a pretty short entry. So what are your goals for this month?
It is the first of the month and for me that means it is time to pay some bills. So I’m going to share a couple of songs that are about money.
Back again is Tonic Sol-Fa with the song that sort of turned me on to them because I found it incredibly catchy.
And here’s ‘Barenaked Ladies’ with ‘If I had $1 million’.
