I really should have posted this when I found out last week but I’ve gotten out of practice in terms of posting hard Audiobook news items. However, I do think this one is worth mentioning.
TuneIn, the Internet radio service has launched a premium section. For $7.99 a month you can get access to commercial free music channels, Major League Baseball and Premier League games and other features. For our purposes the most interesting feature is access to over 40,000 audiobooks.
We’re not just talking audiobooks that are free and in the public domain, we’re talking things like: Hunger Games, Divergent, American Sniper, Gone Girl and so on.
It costs $7.99 a month, the same as a Hulu subscription but you can get a 30 day free trial to see if it is to your liking. I have just signed up for my trial and we will see if it is worthwhile for me or not. In generally, anything that gets me access to more audiobooks is a good thing I think.
